In today’s data-driven, tech-enabled world, access to education is considered a fundamental right. Yet for millions of blind and visually impaired students, especially in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), that access is still riddled with barriers. From inaccessible teaching materials to mobility challenges, their academic journeys are often defined by what’s missing — not what’s possible.
That’s where EduNav+ steps in. This project isn’t just about building technology — it’s about creating a future where blind students can participate, thrive, and lead in the same classrooms, labs, and careers as everyone else.
Understanding the Gap
STEM subjects are visual by nature — diagrams, equations, graphs, experiments, and spatial reasoning dominate instruction. While tools like screen readers and Braille exist, they rarely address the real-time, high-context, and fast-paced nature of STEM learning environments.
Worse still, most solutions are expensive, fragmented, or designed without direct input from the users they intend to serve.
This is the gap EduNav+ addresses.
What EduNav+ Solves
EduNav+ is built on a simple yet radical idea: make STEM education accessible at every touchpoint. It combines:
A mobile app that translates whiteboard content into speech
AI that reads, processes, and vocalizes math and science content
A wearable navigation system that guides students through classrooms
Real-time communication tools for joining online classes via text-to-speech or Braille
A digital platform to track progress, collect feedback, and invite collaboration
By addressing both the academic and mobility barriers blind students face, EduNav+ becomes more than an assistive tool — it becomes an enabler of opportunity.
